Proposed Analysis: | I hope to develop a deep learning model (specifically, a convolutional neural network of InceptionV3 architecture) for the early detection of Alzheimer's disease. The imaging data will be preprocessed using a grid method through Python. My neural network will be trained with the images using the first-order gradient-based stochastic optimization algorithm Adam, then tested for its accuracy in classifying data as AD, MCI, or normal. As for interpreting my results: I will plot receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of the model and calculate the area under the ROC curve (AUC). I will also determine my model's sensitivity and specificity, develop a saliency map, and plot t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding. |
